DESCRIPTION

1-2199299-2 is a 40-position DIP socket with dual leaf contacts designed for through-hole PCB mounting. The socket features a 15.24 mm (600 CL) centerline spacing and tin contact plating, meeting lead-free (PB FREE) requirements for RoHS compliance. The dual leaf contact design enlarges the contact area and ensures low and constant contact resistance of 20 milliohms maximum, with a maximum insertion force of 300 grams and minimum withdrawal force of 20 grams. The insulator is constructed from 30% glass-filled PBT thermoplastic in black, and the contacts are made from phosphorous bronze. This socket is ideal for applications requiring reliable IC mating and unmating in industrial controls, intelligent buildings, medical devices, and military systems, offering easy field IC replacement and avoidance of IC overheating during soldering.
