The D38999/23YD5PN is a MIL-DTL-38999 Series III subminiature connector designed for rugged, harsh environment applications in aerospace, defense, and marine systems. This connector features a threaded 360° turn coupling mechanism with environmentally sealed construction and scoop-proof design, available in stainless steel, aluminum, or composite shell materials with multiple plating options including electroless nickel, nickel PTFE, black zinc-nickel, and olive drab cadmium. The connector supports up to 187 maximum signal contacts using AS39029 contact type in sizes 23, 22, 20, 16, 12, 10, and 8, with contact styles including crimp, solder cup/eyelet, and PCB tail terminations. Operating temperature range extends from -65°C to +200°C (depending on shell finish), with a standard durability rating of 500 mating cycles and higher durability versions available. Standard configurations include straight plugs with EMI spring fingers and lanyard release options, plus multiple receptacle mounting styles (box mount, wall mount, jam nut, solder mount, weld mount, and through-hole bulkhead). This connector is ideal for critical interconnect applications requiring environmental sealing, EMI control, and long-term reliability in demanding aerospace and defense environments.
