DESCRIPTION
17E165737 is a metal backshell kit designed for subminiature D-connectors with E-size shell configuration, compatible with both 9-position standard and 15-position high-density contact arrangements. The backshell features a zinc-alloy shell with zinc-plated, hexavalent chromium-free finish, paired with a black thermoplastic compression insert tree (75 durometer) and steel hardware, all RoHS compliant. The kit includes two shell halves, one compression insert tree, and hardware consisting of #4-40 fillister head machine screws (7/16" length), #4-40 fillister head captive screws (1/2" length), and #4 saddle washers. The compression jacket inserts accommodate cable diameters ranging from 0.210" to 0.320" (5.33 mm to 8.13 mm), with multiple insert sizes available for optimal fit. This backshell assembly is ideal for applications requiring secure cable strain relief and environmental protection in industrial instrumentation, data acquisition, and telecommunications equipment.
