DESCRIPTION

The DS850-9 is an 850-watt distributed power bulk front-end supply designed for Telco-style 48 Vdc input systems. It provides a main output of +12V at 70A and a +3.3V standby output at 6A, with an optional 5V standby configuration available. The unit features active current sharing, internal ORing FETs, and an EEPROM for storing service data, along with an I2C communication interface for FRU EEPROM data access. Operating from a standard Telco input range of -40V to -75V DC with greater than 80% typical efficiency, the supply includes a built-in 40mm x 28mm cooling fan with internal speed control and fan fail detection. The 1U x 2U form factor (15.4W/in³) supports hot-plug operation, N+1 redundancy, and no minimum load requirement, making it ideal for telecommunications, data center, and mission-critical applications requiring reliable distributed power delivery.
