DESCRIPTION
The AWP-40-7240-T is an IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) socket designed for ribbon cable applications with a 2.54×2.54 mm pitch and central lug configuration. It features gold flash selective plating on brass or phosphor bronze contacts with nickel underplate, providing excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The insulator is constructed from PBT with 30% glass fiber reinforcement (UL94V-0 rated) and supports a current rating of 1 A per contact with 1000 MO minimum insulation resistance and 500 VAC dielectric withstanding voltage. Operating temperature range spans -55°C to +105°C, ensuring reliable performance across diverse environmental conditions. This connector is ideal for data acquisition systems, industrial control panels, and computer peripherals where secure ribbon cable termination and long-term reliability are essential.
