DESCRIPTION
The 9729-CHR-100 is a computer EIA RS-232/422 digital audio cable designed for reliable data transmission in industrial and commercial applications. It features 24 AWG stranded (7x32) tinned copper conductors with Datalene® foamed polyethylene insulation, twisted pairs, and individually Beldfoil® shielded construction providing 100% coverage. The cable incorporates a 24 AWG stranded tinned copper drain wire and PVC jacket, with a nominal characteristic impedance of 100 O and low capacitance of 12.5 pF/ft conductor-to-conductor. Key electrical characteristics include a nominal conductor DC resistance of 24 O/1000 ft, nominal inductance of 0.23 µH/ft, and a velocity of propagation of 76%. The cable is rated for 300 V RMS and supports a maximum recommended current of 1 A per conductor at 25°C, making it suitable for hazardous locations and indoor environments where low-distortion, high-speed data handling is required.
