DESCRIPTION
The 5.0SMDJ24A-Q is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for overvoltage transient protection in automotive, telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics applications. This device features a reverse standoff voltage of 24 V, breakdown voltage range of 26.7 to 29.5 V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 38.9 V at peak pulse current of 129 A. It delivers a peak pulse power dissipation of 5000 watts with a peak forward surge current of 300 A (8.3 ms single half sine wave), and operates across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. The device is housed in a compact SMC (DO-214AB) surface mount package with molded plastic encapsulation per UL Class 94V-0, and is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and AEC-Q101 compliant. It is ideal for protecting power buses and I/O interfaces against transient overvoltage events with fast response times of less than 1.0 ps.
