DESCRIPTION
The 62A22-02-100SH is an optical rotary encoder featuring 16 detent positions (22.5° angle of throw) with an integral pushbutton switch and stripped cable termination at 0.100" centers. It provides standard 2-bit quadrature coded output compatible with CMOS, TTL, and HCMOS logic, with operating voltage of 5.0 ±0.25 Vdc and maximum supply current of 30 mA. The encoder is optically coupled for over 1 million rotational cycles and includes a non-detent pushbutton rated for 3 million actuations minimum, with contact resistance less than 10 ohms and contact bounce less than 4 mS at make and 10 mS at break. The device operates at a maximum speed of 100 RPM with an initial operating torque of 2.0 ±1.4 in-oz, making it suitable for applications in global positioning systems, driver information systems, and medical equipment requiring reliable rotational input control.
