The 24-6337-0017 is Kester 44 flux-cored solder wire, an activated rosin formula designed for use with both lead-free and leaded solder alloys. This product features a high-activity RA formulation classified as ROM1 per J-STD-004, delivering excellent solderability to a wide variety of metalizations with distinctive "instant-action" wetting behavior and high mobility for fast-spreading action. The wire exhibits moderate copper mirror corrosion and moderate corrosion resistance when tested to J-STD-004 standards, with chloride and bromide content of 0.44% and passing fluoride spot tests. Common alloys include Sn63Pb37 and Sn62Pb36Ag2, available in multiple wire diameters and flux percentages, with recommended solder iron tip temperatures of 315–343 °C (600–650 °F) for Sn63Pb37. This industry-standard RA cored wire is widely used in production line soldering applications requiring reliable wetting and consistent performance across diverse metalizations.
