DESCRIPTION
The GFTR2-W is a 20A-125VAC, 60Hz tamper-resistant GFCI receptacle designed to provide ground fault protection in residential and commercial installations. This device features self-testing electronics that periodically confirm GFCI functionality, with a Status Indicator Light that displays solid green when powered and operating correctly; if the indicator shows solid or flashing red, the TEST button can be pressed to verify operation, and if the GFCI cannot be reset, replacement is required. The receptacle is rated for 20A feed-through capacity and is compatible with copper or copper-clad wire only. It is suitable for damp locations when marked as Weather Resistant (WR), and for wet locations when protected with an appropriate cover plate or outlet box hood. Common applications include protecting personnel from ground fault hazards in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and outdoor areas where electrical shock risk is elevated.
