DESCRIPTION
The MCP23018T-E/MJ is a 16-bit general-purpose parallel I/O expander for I2C bus applications. It features a 16-bit remote bidirectional I/O port with 5.5V tolerant, open-drain outputs capable of sinking 25 mA per pin. The device supports a high-speed I2C interface with speeds of 100 kHz, 400 kHz, and 3.4 MHz, and operates on a supply voltage from 1.8V to 5.5V. With configurable interrupt outputs and a single hardware address pin that allows up to eight devices on the bus, this expander is ideal for extending I/O capabilities in embedded systems and industrial controls.
