DESCRIPTION
The 89120-0101 is a 3M IDC ribbon cable socket designed for 0.050" pitch ribbon cables with 0.100" × 0.100" contact spacing in the 891 series. The socket features a glass-filled polyester (PBT) insulation body with phosphor bronze contacts plated with 50 µ" nickel underplating and 30 µ" gold wiping area, accommodating 26 and 28 AWG stranded wire. It supports current ratings of 4.25 A for single line and 1.25 A for all lines at 28 AWG, with an operating temperature range of -55°C to +105°C and insulation resistance exceeding 1 × 10? O at 500 V. The preassembled socket features dual polarization with optional centerbump, a double-recessed cover for cable termination from either side, and optional double-sided adhesive pull tab for easy unplugging. This design is ideal for manual and semi-automatic assembly equipment applications, offering military-grade polarization and RoHS compliance.
