DESCRIPTION
The 172180 is an N-type RF crimp plug connector manufactured by Amphenol Connex for use with RG-316/U and RG-174/U coaxial cables. It features a 50-ohm impedance design with a frequency range of DC to 2.5 GHz and a maximum VSWR of 1.2, ensuring excellent signal integrity across RF applications. The connector incorporates a crimped ferrule with a hex crimp size of 0.178 inches, a contact pin designed for solder attachment, and is constructed from brass (with Nexcote plating) for the ferrule, body, and coupling nut, along with a PTFE insulator and silicone gasket for reliable performance. Operating over a temperature range of -65°C to +165°C with a dielectric withstanding voltage of 2500 VRMS minimum and durability rated for 500 mating cycles, this connector is ideal for RF/microwave systems, telecommunications equipment, and test instrumentation requiring robust, high-frequency connections.
