DESCRIPTION
The AEE08A18-L is a 40 W isolated DC/DC converter from Artesyn Embedded Technologies designed for ruggedized industrial and telecommunications applications. It accepts a wide 9–36 Vdc input range and delivers 5 V at 8 A maximum output power, with 1500 Vdc input/output isolation and comprehensive protection including overcurrent (OCP), overvoltage (OVP), and overtemperature (OTP) protection. The converter operates over -40°C to +85°C with derating, achieves 90% typical efficiency, and is housed in a compact 50.8 × 25.4 × 10.2 mm DIP package with aluminum alloy construction. Key electrical characteristics include ±1.0% voltage tolerance, ±0.5% line regulation, 100 mV output noise/ripple, and 320 kHz switching frequency. This device is ideal for industrial automation, instrumentation, test and measurement, and telecommunications where high reliability and isolation are required.
