DESCRIPTION

The 8500 is a programmable DC electronic load designed for testing and evaluating a variety of DC power sources including power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, fuel cells, and solar cells. It operates in constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR), and constant power (CP) modes with a 300 W power rating, 0–120 V operating voltage range, and 30 A rated current. The load features high-resolution voltage and current measurement (1 mV and 0.1 mA resolution), isolated and floating load terminals, and comprehensive protection including over-temperature, over-power, over-voltage, over-current, and reverse polarity safeguards. With a minimum operating voltage below 0.1 V and flexible operating modes, the 8500 is well-suited for low-voltage applications such as fuel cell and solar cell testing, as well as battery characterization and DC power supply load regulation testing.
