DESCRIPTION
The EM14A1D-C24-L008S is a 14 mm rotary optical encoder with integrated push switch designed for compact human-machine interface (HMI) applications. This encoder features 2-bit quadrature code output with 8 to 64 pulses per revolution (PPR) resolution, operating at a supply voltage of 5.0 VDC ± 0.25 VDC with a maximum supply current of 26 mA. The device includes a splashproof shaft seal, HCMOS/CMOS/TTL compatibility, and offers optional detent functionality, with a 1/4" diameter flatted shaft and 3/8" diameter threaded bushing (C-style). Key electrical characteristics include output voltage low of 800 mV maximum at 25 mA sink current, output voltage high of 4.0 VDC minimum, and rise/fall times of 200 ns typical. The encoder is RoHS compliant and recommended for audio equipment, industrial controls, and other applications requiring reliable rotational feedback with integrated switching capability.
