DESCRIPTION

ISOM5-175-B-L2 is a hybrid protection component from Bourns' IsoMOV® Series that combines metal oxide varistor (MOV) and gas discharge tube (GDT) technologies into a single device. It features a maximum continuous operating voltage (MCOV) of 175 V RMS (225 V DC), nominal capacitance of 40 pF at 20 kHz, and operating leakage less than 10 µA at MCOV. The device delivers exceptional energy handling with 5,000 operations at 10 kA surge current and 10,000 operations at higher surge levels, while maintaining a maximum clamping voltage of 470 V at 100 A. With in-line lead configuration (L2), lead spacing of 7.5 mm, and wire diameter of 0.8 mm, this component is ideally suited for AC and DC power applications requiring premium surge protection performance, space savings, and extended operational life with low capacitance and minimal leakage characteristics.
