DESCRIPTION

SMBJ18CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. It features a working peak reverse voltage of 18 V, a breakdown voltage range of 20.0 to 22.1 V, and a maximum reverse voltage of 10 V at 10 mA. The device is housed in a compact DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package and delivers fast response times of less than 5.0 picoseconds, with a maximum peak current of 21.4 A and maximum clamping current of 36.6 A. This component is ideal for protecting sensitive circuits against transient overvoltages from ESD events (IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4), electrical fast transients (IEC 61000-4-4), and surge conditions (IEC 61000-4-5).
