DESCRIPTION

SMBJ36A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in compact surface-mount applications. This device features a working peak reverse voltage (V_RWM) of 36V with a breakdown voltage range of 40.4V to 44.2V, providing reliable overvoltage clamping. The SMBJ36A offers a maximum clamping voltage of 58.1V at 10A and a maximum peak current rating of 10.4A, with fast response times typical of the SMBJ series. The device is housed in the DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package and is RoHS compliant, making it ideal for protecting sensitive electronics in portable communications, computing, and video equipment from transient voltage events per IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT), and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge) standards.
