DESCRIPTION
WS3M1001J is a high-surge wirewound resistor from the Bourns WS Series, designed to withstand extreme transient conditions with a 3W power rating at 70°C. The device features a low thermal resistance ceramic core and meets surge withstand requirements per IEC 61000-4-5 (1.2/50 µs pulse), making it suitable for demanding industrial environments. It operates across a wide temperature range from -55°C to +200°C with a temperature coefficient of ±200 ppm/°C and offers 5% tolerance with E24 resistance values. The resistor's RoHS-compliant coating meets UL 94V-0 requirements, providing excellent reliability. Common applications include smart meters, renewable energy systems, power supplies, chargers, lighting circuits, and industrial instrumentation where surge protection and thermal stability are critical.
