DESCRIPTION
The 62A15-01-P is a 1/2" package optical rotary encoder designed for precision rotational input detection with 24 detent positions (15° angle of throw). It operates at 5.0 Vdc with a supply current of 30 mA maximum and provides 2-bit quadrature coded output compatible with CMOS, TTL, and HCMOS logic. The encoder features optically coupled construction rated for over 1 million rotational cycles, with an operating torque of 2.0 ±1.4 in-oz initially and a shaft push-out force of 45 lbs minimum. The device includes a 28 AWG stranded cable with 0.050" wire centers terminated with an AMP connector (P/N 215083-6), and optional integral pushbutton with 3 million actuations minimum life. This encoder is well-suited for global positioning systems, driver information systems, and medical equipment applications requiring reliable, long-life rotational sensing.
