Linear position sensors are instruments that are used to measure linear displacement, i.e. position. Types include linear, angular, or multi-axis sensors. These linear position sensors, also known as linear position transducers, are generally used in material handling, plastic molding, cutting and slitting, hydraulic cylinders, engine transmissions, heavy equipment, aircraft actuators, and various other applications.
