DESCRIPTION

The SMBJ5.0A is a unidirectional surface-mount TVS (transient voltage suppression) diode from the SMBJ series, rated for 600 W peak pulse power dissipation using a 10/1000 µs test waveform. It features a breakdown voltage of 5.0 V with a maximum reverse leakage current of 1 µA at 25 °C, and is housed in a compact surface-mount package suitable for high-density circuit board layouts. The device is ideal for protecting I/O interfaces, Vcc bus lines, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronic applications where fast transient suppression is required. Its low clamping voltage and fast response time make it effective at limiting voltage spikes caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other transient events.
