DESCRIPTION
The MCP4162-104E/MS is a single 8-bit digital rheostat that provides a 100 kΩ resistance with 257 steps. It features non-volatile EEPROM memory, which allows for the automatic recall of the saved wiper setting on power-up, a feature enhanced by WiperLock™ Technology. The device is controlled via a 10 MHz SPI serial interface and operates over a wide voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V. With a typical low wiper resistance of 75 Ω and an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, it is well-suited for applications requiring precise, non-volatile resistance calibration, such as set-point control, sensor trimming, and adjustable gain circuits in industrial and automotive environments.
