DESCRIPTION

DRS1604 is a rotary DIP switch from the DR Series featuring a metal shaft actuator in a 16-position hexadecimal complement configuration with through-hole straight termination. The switch utilizes high-pressure contacts rated at 140K PSI that provide 20,000 steps of operation, with unique pin-point sliding contact design to penetrate contaminants on the contact surface. Key electrical characteristics include a contact rating of 0.4 VA at 20 VDC, initial contact resistance of 50 milliohms maximum at 2 VDC, insulation resistance of 1,000 megohms minimum at 100 VDC, and dielectric strength of 300 VAC RMS. The switch operates reliably across a temperature range of -30°C to +85°C and withstands harsh environmental conditions including salt spray, hydrogen sulfide, and solder reflow at 260°C, making it suitable for industrial control systems, telecommunications equipment, and embedded applications requiring reliable configuration selection.
