DESCRIPTION
1-745497-7 is an HDE-20 metal-shell IDC (insulation displacement contact) receptacle connector, shell size 4, with 37 contact positions and contact finish plating code B. The connector features a steel shell with tin plating, a 94V-O rated thermoplastic black insert, and phosphor bronze contacts with duplex plating (gold flash on mating end, tin on termination end, with entire contact nickel underplated). It is designed for terminating solid or stranded wire (maximum 7 strands) with individual conductor strands larger than 0.005 inch diameter, accepting a maximum wire insulation thickness of 0.015 inch and maximum wire insulation diameter of 0.060 inch. The connector is preloaded with insulation displacement socket contacts and is commonly used in industrial machinery, medical instrumentation, computers, peripherals, and telecommunications applications where reliable cable termination is required.
