DESCRIPTION
179463-1 is a 2-position, single-row free-hanging cap housing from the Power Double Lock (PDL) connector series, designed for wire-to-wire interconnect applications. This cap housing features a 3.96 mm contact centerline spacing and accepts tab contacts for wire termination, with compatible double lock plate part number 177918-1 for positive contact retention. The PDL system accepts 26-16 AWG wire with insulation diameters from 1.3 mm to 3.1 mm and is rated up to 14 Amps per line at 300 Volts AC/DC for wire-to-wire configurations. The semi-inner locking system helps eliminate unmating by external force, while an audible click indicates full latching. Common applications include household appliances, HVAC system controls, security systems, and industrial controls where reliable discrete wire interconnection is required.
