DESCRIPTION
The 183024-1 is an AMPSEAL 16 connector receptacle housing designed to provide environmental sealing and protection for mated connectors in industrial and commercial transportation applications. This connector supports multiple contact configurations with keyed housing options in black, natural, and gray colors, and accommodates both tin-plated and gold-plated contact finishes. The connector is rated for currents up to 17 amps (gold plated) or 8 amps (tin plated), with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C for gold-plated versions and -40°C to +105°C for tin-plated versions. It meets rigorous performance specifications including 250 volts AC voltage rating, 100 megohms minimum insulation resistance, and withstands physical shock of 50 G's half-sine pulses and random vibration of 10 Gs for 8 hours. The AMPSEAL 16 connector is commonly used in harsh environments where reliable electrical connections and environmental protection are critical, such as automotive, industrial control systems, and transportation equipment.
