DESCRIPTION
The 2-1579016-2 is an ERGOCRIMP die set designed for use with the ERGOCRIMP basis hand tool (PN 539635-1) to crimp MCON 1.2 CB socket contacts onto prepared wire. This die set is specifically configured for AWG 20 wire sizes of 0.5 mm² and 0.75 mm², with wire insulation diameter range of 1.4–1.9 mm and a required strip length of 3.6 mm. The die assembly includes an upper die, lower die, contact locator, and positioning unit that work together to achieve precise crimp heights of 0.84 mm for 0.50 mm² wire and 0.95 mm for 0.75 mm² wire, with a maximum insulation barrel crimp height of 3.3 mm. The tool features a ratchet mechanism with seven audible clicks and releases on the sixth click to ensure complete crimp cycles. This die set is intended for occasional use and low-volume applications; for extended production operations, TE offers powered application equipment alternatives.
