DESCRIPTION

The 2198484-1 is a 1x1 Mini-SAS HD external receptacle assembly with integrated lightpipe, designed for high-speed serial-attached SCSI (SAS) connectivity in storage, servers, and high-performance computing applications. This connector supports data rates up to 12 Gb/s per lane and complies with SAS-2.1 at 6 Gb/s and SAS-3 at 12 Gb/s standards, with a stacked board interface providing 36 positions per 1x1 configuration. The assembly features a preassembled, one-piece design for easy single-step PCB placement, screw-mounted retention for error-proof installation, and an enhanced EMI skirt design for improved signal integrity. The receptacle housing is constructed from LCP with nickel silver shield assembly, copper alloy contacts and EMI spring, and brass threaded nut, ensuring durability over 250 mating cycles. This product is ideal for applications requiring compact, high-density interconnects that save 30% to 50% of PCB space compared to standard SAS connectors, while the lightpipe option provides visual status indication for system monitoring.
