DESCRIPTION
66461-3 is a precision wrap-type socket contact designed for backpanel wiring termination in AMP connector systems. The contact features a brass body with stainless steel retention spring, providing reliable electrical connection and mechanical retention. It is available with selective gold/nickel, gold/nickel, or bright tin-lead finish options to meet various environmental and performance requirements. The contact accommodates wire sizes from 26 to 24 AWG (0.12–0.2 mm²) with insulation diameter range of 0.025 × 0.025 inches (0.64 × 0.64 mm) for wrap-type termination. With a pin diameter of 0.062 inches (1.57 mm) and test current rating of 13 amperes, this contact is suitable for signal and power applications in precision connector assemblies, backpanel wiring, and industrial control systems requiring durable, high-reliability connections.
