DESCRIPTION
The 748568-1 is a subminiature D connector receptacle designed for high-density input/output applications in computer systems. It features a steel shell with tin plating, a thermoplastic insert (94V-O, black), and steel tin-plated shields, providing robust shielding for signal integrity. The connector offers approximately 66% higher density than the HD-20 series and is a lower-cost commercial version of the military-approved series 90 family. It accepts Size 22 DF socket contacts (purchased separately) and is intermateable with any size 22 subminiature D connector dimensionally complying with MIL-C-24308. The receptacle is commonly used in personal computer systems and industrial I/O applications where reliable, high-density interconnection and electromagnetic shielding are required.
