DESCRIPTION
Tool 843477-3 is an extraction and lance reset tool designed to remove MTE, Mod IV, Tandem Spring, and Mini Tandem Spring contacts from housings while resetting overly depressed contact locking lances. This tool features a lance reset angle of 21° and is specifically designed for contacts with old-style locking lance designs. The tool includes a contact lance release tip that depresses the locking lance to allow contact extraction, a locking lance reset portion to reposition depressed lances to proper height, and a tool stop to prevent over-insertion. With a lance release tip dimension of 0.51 mm [0.020 inches] and a lance reset tip dimension of 1.02 mm [0.040 inches], this top-release tool is inserted from the top of the housing cavity to depress the locking lance. It is commonly used in connector assembly and maintenance operations where precise contact extraction and lance repositioning are required to ensure proper contact retention in housings.
