DESCRIPTION

962982-1 is a stamped and formed socket contact designed for 2.5 mm circular DIN connectors with single wire sealing capability. The contact accommodates wire gauges from 1.0 to 2.5 mm² and features an insertion depth range of 087-118 mm (2.2-3.0 inches), with silver plating for enhanced conductivity and corrosion resistance. This loose piece contact is rated for up to 40 amperes and is supplied as an individual component for assembly into connector housings. The single wire sealing design provides environmental protection by creating a seal around individual wires, making it suitable for harsh industrial and automotive applications where moisture and contamination ingress must be prevented. These contacts are commonly used in transportation, industrial control systems, and other demanding environments requiring reliable sealed connections.
