The R-78HB12-0.5/W is a high-efficiency DC/DC switching regulator designed to be a superior replacement for 78xx linear regulators. It operates over a wide input voltage range of 17VDC to 72VDC, providing a stable 12VDC output at up to 0.5A. With a typical efficiency of 93%, it generates minimal heat, eliminating the need for external heatsinks. The device integrates continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery and features a low output ripple and noise of 20mVp-p.
