DESCRIPTION
The MP7217-DA is a miniature MEMS catalytic combustible gas sensor (pellistor) optimized for methane detection up to 5% volume in air, commonly used in mining applications. It features low power consumption for battery operation, a compact size of 14 mm diameter, high resistance to mechanical shocks, and is certified as intrinsically safe with ATEX (II 1G Ex ia IIC Ga, I M1 Ex ia I Ma) and IECEx certification. The sensor operates over a service temperature range of -40°C to +75°C with a maximum surface temperature rise of 30 K, and is designed to meet Group 1 mining performance standards. Its robust, poison-resistant design in a certified flameproof enclosure makes it ideal for hazardous area installations where reliable gas detection and safety compliance are critical requirements.
