DESCRIPTION
The 1-1718492-1 is an AMP MCP 2.8 18-position monoblock tab housing connector designed for unsealed interconnection systems in industrial and commercial transportation environments. This connector features a PBT GF20 housing material with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and IP 30 protection rating, making it suitable for harsh environments with vibration, moisture, dust, and salt exposure. The connector supports wire sizes from 0.75 mm² to 2.5 mm² and is constructed with UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant material for enhanced safety in cabin applications. It incorporates mechanical and color keying to prevent improper mating, a secondary lock for contact alignment, and reduced mating force below 75 N. The 18×2.8 configuration with 4 color-coding options (Black, White, Blue, Violet) allows for flexible system design without requiring design changes to existing bulkhead cut-outs, making it ideal for retrofit applications in tractors, construction equipment, trucks, and boats.
