DESCRIPTION
5499923-6 is an Ultra ATA Bus ribbon cable connector designed for high-density interconnect solutions with a 0.025 inch (0.64 mm) centerline pitch. The connector features 40 signal contacts and 40 ground terminations to a special IDC bus bar, providing robust grounding and signal integrity. The housing and cover are constructed from thermoplastic material rated UL 94 V-0, with phosphor bronze contacts plated with gold on the mating end and tin in the wire termination area over nickel underplating. This connector is RoHS compliant and designed to mate with 2-row pin headers on standard PCB layouts. It is commonly used in data storage systems, particularly in Ultra ATA (PATA) bus applications where reliable high-speed data transmission and compact form factor are essential.
