DESCRIPTION
The 747318-4 is an HDF-20 low-profile all-plastic receptacle connector assembly designed for use with round conductor flat ribbon cable in subminiature D-type applications. It features 9 contact positions (Shell Size 1) with threaded inserts for secure panel mounting, and housing and covers that are preassembled for quick integration. The connector uses phosphor bronze pin contacts with duplex plating: 0.00030 inches [0.00376 mm] gold on the mating end and 0.00010–0.00020 inches [0.00254–0.00508 mm] bright tin-lead on the termination end, with an additional 0.00005 inches [0.00127 mm] nickel underplate for enhanced durability. The housing and cable stabilizer are constructed from black thermoplastic rated 94V-G, and threaded inserts are brass unplated. This receptacle assembly is commonly used in ribbon cable interconnect systems where space is limited and reliable, low-profile connections are required, such as in telecommunications, industrial control, and data acquisition equipment.
