DESCRIPTION
The 2-179694-4 is a cable-mounted hybrid mini-drawer connector receptacle assembly designed for hot-plug, blind-mating mixed signal and power interconnection systems. This 4-position connector supports both power and signal contacts with sequenced mate-first-break-last operation, enabling safe hot-plug functionality in live power supply applications. The connector features a thermoplastic housing (UL94-0 rated, 66 nylon, natural color) with copper alloy contacts that are gold-plated on the mating side over nickel underplate and tin-plated on the CT mating side. It accommodates wire sizes from AWG #28-26 (0.2-0.5 mm²) with insulation diameter of 1.4-2.6 mm, and supports AWG #24 wire (0.20-0.22 mm²) with insulation diameter of 0.95-1.05 mm. This connector is ideal for low-noise power supplies, switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), power factor-correcting (PFC) power supplies, and redundant (N+1) power systems requiring reliable hot-plug capability.
