DESCRIPTION

The 8-215083-4 is a male-on-wire connector from the TE Connectivity Micro-MaTch modular connector family, designed for wire-to-board interconnections with 1.27 mm contact spacing. This connector is supplied on-tape and supports mass termination of 28 AWG ribbon cable (0.08 mm² to 0.09 mm²) with a tin-plated contact design that provides gas-tight connections. The connector features a positioning spring in the female contact that absorbs relative movements caused by vibrations and thermal expansion, preventing fretting corrosion—the traditional failure mode in tin-plated connections. The 8-215083-4 is available in multiple position sizes (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, and 24 positions) and is packaged on reels (2500 units) or in boxes (250 units). This connector is widely used in production and material handling equipment, control units, robots, motors, heating systems, automotive electronics, navigation systems, and audio equipment where reliable wire-to-board connections are required.
