DESCRIPTION
8-215083-8 is an 18-position male-on-wire connector from the AMP Micro-MaTch miniature connector system, designed for insulation displacement connection (IDC) to ribbon cables. The connector features AMP-LATCH type blades with single slots that are tin plated for stable and reliable connections. It is supplied with a pre-assembled cover that provides excellent positioning of the ribbon cable before and during the insulation displacement process, with the cover held in place by individual contacts and two plastic latches at both ends. The connector is specifically designed to be disengaged from its counterpart by pulling the cable in the appropriate direction. This connector is ideal for high-density electronic applications requiring reliable wire-to-board connections in a compact form factor.
